What is a room in Keet?

A room in Keet is a dedicated space for secure communication where you can chat, make calls, and share files.

You can create and join as many rooms as you want. They can be completely private, for a small company, family, or group of friends, or they can grow into a large and vibrant community with thousands of members. 💫

How do I start a chat with friends?

Create a room and invite members. Here's how:

1. Click 'Create room' [📝] button:

   
2. Select 'New group chat' :

   
3. Enter room name, description (optional), pick a room avatar, if you want:

   
4. Click 'Create group chat'.

1. Click 'Create group chat'. You can also set a room avatar now.

The room will appear on the room list, and you will be the Administrator.

Now you can invite peers to join your room.

How to create a channel and invite subscribers?

You can create a read-only room where only you (and selected moderators) can post, and then invite as many subscribers as you like.

When setting up the room, simply toggle 'Broadcast Feed' to make it a read-only channel:

How big a public room could be?

There’s no limit to the number of members or subscribers a room can have. For example, our public Pear Community room has over 10,000 members, and the Keet News broadcast channel has more than 12,500 readers.
